Western Railway will operate a Bandra Palitana special train from Mumbai on September 6 to manage increased passenger demand, with two services scheduled between Bandra Terminus and Palitana. The railway has also extended special train services on the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central–Indore routes until November.
Train number 09023 will leave Bandra Terminus at 7.25 pm on September 6 and reach Palitana at 9.25 am the following day. The return service, train number 09024, will depart Palitana at 8 pm on September 7 and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 9.30 am on September 8.
The Bandra Palitana special train will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Botad, Dhola, Songadh and Sihor. The service will include sleeper-class and general second-class coaches, and special fares will apply, according to information released by Western Railway.
The announcement comes as the railway continues to use temporary services to accommodate additional demand on routes linking Mumbai with Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Western Railway has extended the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad special train services until November 25 and 26, with the dates applying to the respective services.
On the Mumbai Central–Indore route, trains numbered 09079 and 09080 will run until November 29 and 30, respectively. Services numbered 09085 and 09086 have been extended until November 27 and 28, respectively.
Reservations for the special trains are available at railway reservation centres and through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website, Western Railway said.
