Yuva Dasara Mysuru Venue Ready With Five Nights of Music and Security

Yuva Dasara Mysuru will be held from October 13 to 17 at Uttanahalli on the outskirts of the city, with organisers preparing a 14-acre venue, a large concert stage and security arrangements for the expected crowds.

The festival will open at 6.30pm on October 13, when actor Prabhudeva is scheduled to inaugurate the event. Karnataka Minister in charge of Mysuru district, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, will attend as the chief guest, while MLA G.T. Deve Gowda will preside over the programme, organisers said at a press conference.

Mallikarjun Baladandi, deputy special officer of the sub-committee, and J. Somashekar, its working president, said the festival would feature music and entertainment programmes every evening. The opening day will include a performance by Ajaneesh Loknath’s team. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy are scheduled to perform on October 14, followed by singer Sid Sriram on October 15.

The October 16 programme, described by organisers as Sandalwood Nights, will include actors and performers such as Shivarajkumar and Rachita Ram. Jasmine Sandlas is scheduled to perform on October 17. The organisers said the event is intended to bring youth talent, music, art, culture and entertainment together on one platform.

A 80-by-60-foot stage has been constructed at the venue. The technical setup includes a d&b audiotechnik sound system based on German technology, a DiGiCo Quantum mixer, advanced lighting and laser systems. According to the organisers, the equipment has been installed to provide audiences with high-quality sound and lighting for the concerts.

The venue is expected to attract large numbers of visitors, and the organisers said arrangements had been made for police deployment and crowd management. The Karnataka State Reserve Police, District Armed Reserve, Quick Response Teams and home guards will be deployed. Drones and closed-circuit television cameras will also be used for surveillance, they said.

The stated priorities are public safety, smoother traffic movement and orderly management of the event. The announcement, however, did not provide details of specific traffic diversions, parking locations or public transport arrangements for the five-day programme.

More than 100 stalls will be part of a food festival at the venue, offering South Indian and North Indian dishes. Organisers said the festival is also intended to support tourism and economic activity in Mysuru. A Yuva Dasara album song, written by Somashekar G.S. and Manoj Saugandh and composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, was released during the announcement.

An official non-governmental committee has also been formed for the sub-committee. Rayarahundi Ravi has been appointed its chairperson, with 187 members expected to work on the event. The festival is scheduled to continue through October 17 at Uttanahalli.
