Warmer Days Ahead as Temperatures Rise Across Uttar Pradesh

The weather in Uttar Pradesh has shifted, with the mercury steadily climbing across the state, particularly in Prayagraj and Agra divisions. After a brief spell of cooler temperatures caused by north-westerly winds, the state is now witnessing a rise in day temperatures. The change is felt most prominently in the central and eastern parts of the state, where the highest recorded temperature for the day reached 31.1°C in Prayagraj and 31°C in Varanasi (BHU).

On Monday, maximum temperatures saw an uptick in the Prayagraj and Agra divisions, with day temperatures significantly exceeding normal levels. The Agra division experienced a surge of more than 5°C above the normal, while the Meerut division recorded temperatures between 3.1°C to 5°C above normal. Other divisions, including Varanasi, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Jhansi, also experienced moderate increases, with temperatures between 1.6°C to 3°C higher than usual. Despite these increases, the remaining divisions across Uttar Pradesh saw little to no significant change in temperatures. The state’s highest temperature of 31.1°C was recorded in Prayagraj, making it the hottest spot in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, followed closely by Varanasi at 31°C. While the daytime temperatures are climbing, night-time weather conditions have remained relatively stable. The past 24 hours saw dry weather across Uttar Pradesh, with minimal change in the night temperatures. However, some areas in eastern Uttar Pradesh were affected by dense to very dense fog. Ballia, for instance, recorded a particularly low visibility of just 40 meters, impacting travel and daily routines.

In terms of regional variations, night temperatures were notably above normal in the Gorakhpur and Agra divisions, while Ayodhya saw the lowest recorded minimum temperature in the state at 7°C. Most other areas, however, maintained normal night-time temperatures, with fluctuations generally within 1.5°C to 3°C. The forecast for the coming days indicates that Uttar Pradesh is likely to experience dry weather conditions, with no significant rainfall expected. While shallow to moderate fog is predicted at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, mist or shallow fog could affect parts of western Uttar Pradesh. This foggy condition is expected to be mild and will not disrupt daily life too severely. In the state capital, Lucknow, the maximum temperature was recorded at 28.6°C, while the minimum settled at 9.5°C. These temperatures are indicative of the gradual warming trend the state is experiencing after a brief cold spell.

As temperatures rise, the warm days are a noticeable shift for the people of Uttar Pradesh. Those in the northern regions, including Varanasi and Prayagraj, are feeling the warmth more sharply, and the transition from chilly mornings to sunny afternoons is evident. The increased heat might prompt residents to adjust their daily routines and dress more appropriately for warmer conditions. Additionally, the fog in eastern Uttar Pradesh presents some visibility challenges, particularly in the morning hours, which could affect travel. However, authorities have not issued any major alerts, as the fog is expected to remain isolated and short-lived. The temperature rise in Uttar Pradesh is part of the ongoing changes that come with the shift from winter to early spring. While some fog may remain in certain areas, the warmer days ahead are expected to dominate the weather landscape across the state. With the mercury steadily climbing, residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions as the temperatures continue to rise in the coming weeks.
