Vashi Hindi Rajbhasha Sammelan Triggers Major Security Plan

Navi Mumbai Police have deployed heightened security and traffic arrangements around the CIDCO Exhibition and Convention Centre in Vashi for the sixth All India Rajbhasha Sammelan, which began on Monday and is scheduled to continue through Tuesday.

The two-day event, organised alongside Hindi Diwas 2026, is expected to draw about 7,000 central government officers, official-language personnel, writers, academics and experts from different parts of the country. Officials from several central government departments are expected to arrive in Navi Mumbai for the conference.

Police personnel have been deployed on major highways leading to the venue and on other important roads in the area. The arrangements are intended to prevent traffic disruption as delegates and senior political leaders travel to the CIDCO centre.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive at the venue at 12.10 pm on Monday and remain at the conference for several hours. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and both deputy chief ministers are also expected to attend, leading to additional security planning around their movements.

The event coincides with the beginning of Ganeshotsav on Monday, when increased movement is expected in and around Vashi. Police have therefore given particular attention to traffic management, alongside the security arrangements for the conference and the visiting dignitaries.

The concentration of a large national gathering, central government officials and senior political leadership at one venue has made the CIDCO centre the focus of the city’s security deployment for the two-day programme. The arrangements will remain in place through Tuesday, when the conference is scheduled to conclude.
