UP International Trade Show Opens in Noida With Global Buyer Push

The UP International Trade Show opened at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida on September 25, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurating the four-day event in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The show will bring products from all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh under one roof and is expected to draw international buyers, representatives and visitors from across the National Capital Region.

Shah and Adityanath arrived at the exhibition venue in a golf cart and visited several stalls before the formal programme began. Shah also received information from officials about the event’s preparations and arrangements. The report said that the Home Minister had initially been scheduled to reach the venue by helicopter, but the plan was changed and he travelled by road instead.

The trade show will continue until September 29. The event is being positioned around the “local for global” theme, with products from Uttar Pradesh’s 75 districts displayed for business visitors and the public. Business entry will be available from 11am to 3pm, while public entry will be free from 3pm to 8pm.

The event has expanded its international participation compared with the previous edition. Vietnam, Japan, Singapore, Russia, Austria and Belarus have been included as partner countries this year, whereas the previous edition had one partner country, according to the report. The report also said that international buyers and representatives from 88 countries are participating, while an earlier reference in the same report mentioned 85 countries as a projected figure.

The scale of the event places additional pressure on transport connections around India Expo Mart, which is located in Greater Noida and is served by the Delhi Metro’s Aqua Line. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has planned more frequent services to support visitors travelling to the venue. Trains will run at intervals of seven and a half minutes on Saturday and 10 minutes on Sunday, according to the report.

The transport adjustment reflects the operational demands created by large exhibitions in the expanding commercial and events district. Visitor movement during the afternoon and evening public-entry window is expected to be particularly important for Metro operations, road traffic and access management around the Expo Mart complex.

The programme will also include cultural performances. The listed performers include folk singer Malvika Hariom from Lucknow, folk dancer Seema Morwal from Mathura, Kathak performer Akanksha Srivastava from Lucknow and Mumbai-based performer Akanksha Tripathi, who is scheduled to present devotional songs. The event organisers expect visitors from across the NCR during the four-day programme, with the Metro frequency plan intended to make access easier.
