Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has suspended VIP break and other privileged darshans at the Tirumala temple from October 11 to October 20, citing the expected heavy pilgrim rush during the Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams.
The Brahmotsavams will be held from October 12 to October 20 and coincide with the last week of Peratasi Masam, a period expected to draw a large number of devotees to Tirumala. The restrictions are intended to manage access during the festival period, when demand for darshan is expected to rise sharply.
Under the decision, privileged darshan facilities for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents with infants, non-resident Indians and defence personnel will remain suspended. TTD has also said that recommendation letters for VIP Break Darshan will not be accepted from October 10 to October 19.
The restrictions will not apply to protocol VIPs, according to the announcement. TTD’s decision creates a distinction between protocol access and other VIP or privileged categories during the period covered by the festival arrangements.
The temple administration will release ₹300 Special Entry Darshan tickets for October 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 and 20. These tickets will be made available on Wednesday at 10 am and can be booked only through TTD’s official website, ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.
The booking schedule covers six of the nine days of the Brahmotsavams. The announcement does not provide details of the number of tickets to be released, the expected daily pilgrim capacity, or any changes to other access and queue arrangements at Tirumala.
TTD’s restrictions reflect the operational challenge of managing different categories of temple access during a major annual gathering. Suspending several privileged facilities and directing devotees to the official online booking channel is aimed at keeping the process centralised during a period of heightened demand.
Devotees planning visits on the listed dates will need to use the official TTD website for Special Entry Darshan bookings. Recommendation letters for VIP Break Darshan will not be accepted during the specified window, while protocol VIP arrangements will continue to remain outside the suspension. The Navaratri Brahmotsavams are scheduled to conclude on October 20.
