TTD Online Booking Faces 24 Lakh Demand Against 2.69 Lakh Quota

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has warned devotees against believing unverified social media claims about the online booking of ₹300 Special Entry Darshan tickets, saying unsuccessful attempts are primarily linked to exceptionally high demand rather than an automatic failure of its booking system.

The temple body said nearly six lakh users could try to access the booking platform simultaneously during peak ticket releases. If each user sought tickets for an average of four family members, potential demand could reach 24 lakh tickets against an available quota of around 2.69 lakh. The projected demand is nearly nine times the number of tickets offered.

The TTD said it uses Google Cloud Platform, load balancing, auto-scaling and distributed architecture to manage the surge in traffic. A virtual queue is also used to regulate access and maintain system stability when large numbers of users attempt to book at the same time.

A dedicated technical war room monitors application performance, infrastructure, transactions and security during ticket releases, according to the temple administration. The arrangement is intended to help the platform absorb sudden traffic spikes while allowing the TTD to track booking activity and technical performance.

The TTD clarified that messages such as “Slot Unavailable” may appear because tickets have been exhausted within a short period of time. It said such messages should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of a technical failure. The clarification addresses a recurring point of confusion for users who are unable to complete a booking during high-demand release windows.

The temple body also said payment transactions depend partly on external payment gateways, banks and UPI networks. As a result, a failed payment does not necessarily mean that the TTD’s booking platform itself has malfunctioned. The distinction is important because a booking attempt involves several linked systems, including the ticketing application, payment providers and banking infrastructure.

The TTD said it was continuing to upgrade its online booking platform, database performance, security measures, anti-bot mechanisms and payment systems. These upgrades, it said, are being informed by user feedback and traffic patterns observed during previous releases. The administration appealed to devotees not to treat every unsuccessful booking attempt as a system failure and to rely on verified information about ticket availability and booking procedures.
