Kerala’s tourism sector, the state is ready to…introduce its inaugural private train service on June 4th, marking a significant milestone in the region’s transportation and hospitality landscape.
This venture, steered by SRMPR Global Railways Private Limited in collaboration with Princy World Travels Private Limited, aligns with the overarching Bharat Gaurav Yatra project undertaken by Indian Railways. Positioned as an exclusive offering catering primarily to tourists, the maiden journey is slated to commence from Thiruvananthapuram with an exciting destination: Goa. Promising a seamless experience, the itinerary includes scheduled halts at Mumbai, with Ayodhya soon to join the roster. Travelers can embark from multiple stations spanning Trivandrum, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasargode, ensuring accessibility across Kerala’s diverse locales.
Crafted for comfort and convenience, the private train boasts a capacity to accommodate 750 passengers, featuring an array of accommodation options. Among these are 2 sleeper-class coaches, 11 third-class AC coaches, and 2 second-class AC coaches, providing flexibility tailored to varying preferences. To ensure a holistic travel experience, a dedicated team of 60 staff members, inclusive of medical professionals, will be onboard, prioritising passenger safety and well-being. Elevating the journey beyond mere transportation, the service encompasses an array of amenities aimed at enhancing passenger satisfaction. From gastronomic delights to Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS tracking, travellers are promised a comprehensive package designed to exceed expectations. Furthermore, curated tour packages offer premium accommodations in star-rated hotels, culinary indulgences, and immersive sightseeing experiences, adding value and allure to the overall excursion.
In terms of pricing, the fare structure reflects a tiered system accommodating diverse budgetary preferences. For instance, a 4-day excursion to Goa via non-AC sleeper entails a fare of Rs. 13,999, with options for 3-tier AC and 2-tier AC priced at Rs. 15,150 and Rs. 16,400, respectively. Similarly, the Ayodhya pilgrimage, spanning 8 days and encompassing sacred sites across Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Prayagraj, is priced at Rs. 30,550, Rs. 33,850, and Rs. 37,150 for non-AC sleeper, 3-tier AC, and 2-tier AC categories, respectively. Notably, children under 5 travel free, while those aged 5 to 10 benefit from a discounted fare set at half the adult rate.
