Telangana Land Pooling Push Targets Hyderabad’s Growth Corridors

Telangana’s Cabinet Sub-Committee on resource mobilisation has directed officials to accelerate land pooling, industrial land regularisation and government land auctions, with a focus on rapidly developing areas around Hyderabad and improved tracking of public assets.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka issued the directions at a meeting at the State Secretariat attended by Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Jupally Krishna Rao. The committee asked departments to prepare a comprehensive action plan to strengthen the State’s revenue base and meet revenue targets within stipulated timelines.

The directions include setting weekly targets for processing applications and monitoring progress through inter-departmental coordination. Officials were told to expedite land regularisation and approvals in industrial areas including Azamabad, Balanagar and Hafeezpet. The review also covered proposals involving B-category and micro industrial units.

The Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials to clear applications from industrialists within fixed deadlines and assign clear responsibilities to the officers handling them. The measures are intended to reduce delays in regularisation and approvals in established industrial areas, although the report did not specify the revised deadlines or the number of applications currently pending.

The committee also reviewed land pooling opportunities in Medchal and Rangareddy districts, two areas experiencing rapid development around Hyderabad. According to the report, the exercise is intended to secure land for future government projects and infrastructure. The meeting did not announce specific projects, land parcels or acquisition and compensation arrangements connected with the proposed pooling.

Land development and auction plans under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation were also examined. Officials were asked to identify auction-ready layouts, prioritise plots with road connectivity and prepare a detailed action plan by the following week.

The proposed auction exercise will depend on the identification of layouts, verification of ownership and development status, and the availability of supporting infrastructure. The report did not provide the number of plots, expected reserve prices or a revenue target for the auctions.

Bhatti Vikramarka also asked officials to develop a digital dashboard covering government lands, layouts, auction-ready plots and project progress. The system is intended to improve coordination and transparency in the State’s resource mobilisation efforts. The next stated milestone is the preparation of the detailed action plan, including the identified auction-ready layouts and land pooling opportunities.
