Tata Powers Eco Crew Sparks Green Energy Revolution

Tata Power has unveiled a transformative initiative aimed at fostering energy literacy and promoting solar energy adoption among young minds. Through its newly launched ‘Club Enerji Eco Crew,’ the company aspires to engage over 500,000 students across 1,000 schools in Uttar Pradesh, encompassing major cities such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Meerut, Agra, and Kanpur. The programme seeks to instil a deep-rooted understanding of sustainable energy solutions, encouraging students to adopt eco-friendly practices and become ambassadors of green energy.

The initiative is designed to create awareness about the significance of solar energy, particularly rooftop solar solutions, as a viable alternative to conventional power sources. With interactive workshops, hands-on projects, and educational activities, students will be equipped with practical knowledge that extends beyond textbooks. Through engaging activations, they will conduct energy audits, participate in sustainability challenges, and take part in creative competitions to drive home the importance of renewable energy. Tata Power’s sustainability mascot, ‘Globey,’ will play a pivotal role in making the learning process more engaging, simplifying complex environmental concepts for young learners.

With India striving towards its ambitious clean energy targets, Tata Power’s initiative complements key national and state-level efforts, including the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, which aims to solarise 10 million households across the country. The Uttar Pradesh government has also been actively supporting this shift by offering additional subsidies of up to Rs 1,08,000 to accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar. Tata Power’s own commitment to facilitating one million homes with solar energy solutions by 2027 further strengthens its role as a key driver of India’s green energy transition.

Beyond its educational outreach, ‘Club Enerji Eco Crew’ is structured to cultivate long-term behavioural change. Students participating in the 21-day challenge will integrate sustainable habits into their daily lives, reinforcing eco-conscious living. Recognising exceptional commitment, the programme will honour standout participants as ‘Eco Stars,’ celebrating their contributions towards environmental conservation. These efforts will culminate in dedicated events acknowledging schools and students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to sustainability. Uttar Pradesh, with its vast and dynamic population, presents a unique opportunity for large-scale renewable energy adoption. Tata Power has been instrumental in expanding solar energy solutions through its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign, working closely with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) to bolster rooftop solar adoption. By empowering young minds with knowledge and tools to champion green energy solutions, Tata Power is fostering a future generation of responsible energy consumers and environmental stewards.

As India races towards a net-zero future, initiatives such as ‘Club Enerji Eco Crew’ underscore the role of corporate responsibility in shaping a sustainable energy ecosystem. By embedding renewable energy literacy at the grassroots level, Tata Power is not only fostering awareness but also driving tangible change in energy consumption patterns, paving the way for a cleaner and more energy-efficient tomorrow.
