Swiggy Food Safety Helpline Adds 24×7 Complaint Channel

Swiggy has launched a dedicated 24×7 helpline and an in-app Food Safety channel for customers to report suspected food-safety concerns, as restaurants, food-delivery platforms and quick-commerce businesses face increased regulatory scrutiny across India.

The company said customers can call 7948231850 to register complaints with customer-care agents. They can also access the dedicated Food Safety channel through the Help section of the Swiggy app, submit details and photographs, and receive a ticket number to track the status of their complaint.

Customers using the helpline will receive a link on their registered mobile number to provide additional information and upload photographs related to the reported issue. Swiggy’s Food Safety Assurance Team will review the complaints on priority and take necessary action, the company said.

Sidharth Bhakoo, chief business officer of Swiggy Food Marketplace, said the company was strengthening the ways in which customers could raise food-safety concerns. “While we continue to work closely with our restaurant partners on food safety, we are also further strengthening the ways in which customers can raise any concerns they may have,” he said.

Swiggy said the new reporting channels would also function as an intelligence tool for the platform. Complaints could help the company identify recurring concerns, detect patterns and engage restaurant partners on preventive measures, it said.

The initiative comes as food-safety enforcement has intensified in parts of the country. In Maharashtra, the Food and Drug Administration, under Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, has stepped up inspections, with several food establishments and quick-commerce warehouses facing action over hygiene and food-safety violations. The state regulator has also introduced a year-round festival enforcement calendar focused on food adulteration.

Swiggy said it continues to work with restaurant partners to encourage the use of high-quality ingredients and accurate menu descriptions. The company also periodically educates partners on hygiene practices and food-safety standards.

The new channel places complaint submission, photographic evidence and ticket tracking within Swiggy’s customer-support system. The company said its Food Safety Assurance Team would use the reports to review concerns and engage restaurant partners where recurring issues are identified.
