Bavdhan police have registered a case against three named people and others after a woman alleged that her family was assaulted and an electrical company’s premises was vandalised during a land dispute in Paygude Nagar, Sus, Pune.
The complainant, aged 41, named her brother-in-law Bipin Rai, Naveen Rai and Ritik Chakravarty in the first information report. She also alleged that several unidentified men and women took part in the incident. The allegations are being investigated by the Pimpri Chinchwad police.
According to the complaint, the dispute relates to a 7.75-guntha plot in Sus where Rai operates an electrical company. She told police that the land was held in the names of her late husband, Vineet Rai, and his brother Bipin. The complainant alleged that her husband paid Bipin ₹81 lakh for his share in 2014, but that Bipin later claimed the land after Vineet Rai died in April 2026.
The alleged incident took place on the evening of October 29. Rai told police that her brother called her to say that people had arrived at the company premises with an earthmover and were damaging the property. When she and her elder son reached the site, she alleged that her brother and tenants had already been assaulted.
The complaint alleges that Rai, her two sons and her brother were beaten with iron rods and wooden sticks. Rai further alleged that a woman struck her hand with an iron rod, while Naveen Rai pulled and damaged her gold necklace. She also told police that members of her family were threatened during the confrontation.
The alleged property damage included two company gates, a bathroom, CCTV cameras and lights. According to the FIR account, Rai’s brother called the police, who reached the premises and intervened. The complaint does not establish the final ownership of the disputed plot; that issue remains part of the broader land dispute and is separate from the criminal investigation.
Bavdhan police station registered the FIR on October 30 under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Sub-Inspector Anil Bhimrao Battishe is conducting further investigation. The police case will now examine the alleged assault, threats, vandalism and the roles of the named and unidentified people cited in the complaint.
