Sabarimala Pilgrims Get One-Stop Portal for Safety, Services and Updates

Sabarimala pilgrims will now be able to access route maps, darshan updates, emergency contacts, bookings and complaint services through the new Sabari Portal and WhatsApp chatbot launched by the Pathanamthitta district administration. The digital system is also designed to help officials monitor services and respond to incidents across the pilgrimage network.

Revenue minister A P Anil Kumar inaugurated the facilities, saying digital technology would help authorities monitor every stage of the pilgrimage. The portal, available at sabariportaldcpta.in on both phones and computers, does not require users to download an application.

For pilgrims, the portal provides information on drinking-water points, toilets, medical facilities, police services, parking areas, rest stops and ATMs at Pampa, Nilakkal and Sannidhanam. Users can obtain directions through Google Maps, check darshan waiting times and pilgrim counts, view pooja schedules and access trekking-route information.

The system also displays the water level and access status of the Pampa Triveni ghat. Links to virtual-queue bookings, KSRTC ticketing and train schedules for Chengannur, Thiruvalla and Kottayam bring several travel and pilgrimage services together on one platform.

The WhatsApp chatbot answers queries related to travel, accommodation, darshan and medical assistance. It also sends updates to users. Missing-person reports can be forwarded to the police control room, while lost-property complaints can include photographs. A ‘Check My Bill’ feature allows pilgrims to compare shop prices with approved rates and report overcharging.

Complaints related to sanitation, transport and Devaswom Board services can also be filed through the system. Emergency numbers and hospital contacts are available on the portal, giving pilgrims a direct digital route to information that is otherwise spread across separate departments and physical help points.

The platform includes an administrative dashboard for duty assignments, attendance and staff notifications. Magistrates can submit signed reports every four hours, while sanitation work across 15 zones at Sannidhanam is tracked through reporting tickets issued every three hours. The sanitation operation involves about 300 to 400 workers.

Hospitals can use the dashboard to record outpatient and inpatient data, referrals and follow-up care. When a death is reported, senior officials, including the district collector, receive an email alert. Upgraded emergency control centres at three locations receive geographically routed complaints.

The dashboard also tracks weather conditions, reservoir levels, wildlife attacks, accidents and bus services. These features place pilgrim-facing information and interdepartmental monitoring within the same system as the administration prepares to manage movement, public services and emergencies across Pampa, Nilakkal and Sannidhanam.
