Raipur Airport Adds Ambikapur Link as Winter Flights Shift Earlier

Raipur airport will move to an earlier winter operating schedule from October 25, while Alliance Air adds Ambikapur to the city’s regional flight network, giving passengers a new direct air link within Chhattisgarh. The revised timetable will remain in force until March 27.

The first scheduled departure from Swami Vivekananda Airport will be Air India’s Delhi service at 7.55 am, 30 minutes earlier than its current 8.25 am departure. The last scheduled departure will also be brought forward, from 10 pm to 9.35 pm.

Air India will continue to operate three flights from Raipur. The airline will also restore its afternoon Delhi-Raipur service, which had been withdrawn during the summer schedule. The flight will depart Delhi at 11.10 am and reach Raipur at 12.55 pm. Air India’s last departure from Raipur will remain at 8.45 pm.

The main regional expansion will come through Alliance Air, which will add Ambikapur to its existing Raipur connections to Rewa and Jagdalpur. Rewa flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Ambikapur and Jagdalpur services will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The Ambikapur service will be operated using the aircraft currently deployed on the Hyderabad-Jagdalpur sector. The ATR aircraft will operate the Raipur-Ambikapur regional circuit before returning to Hyderabad in the evening, according to the report.

The new connection expands air access between Raipur and northern Chhattisgarh, while the existing Rewa and Jagdalpur links continue to provide regional connectivity on separate days. Passengers travelling between the state capital and Ambikapur will have a direct flight option under the winter schedule.

IndiGo, which operates an average of around 25 flights a day from Raipur, will retain its network of 15 destinations. These include Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Goa, Bhopal, Jagdalpur, Indore, Pune and Navi Mumbai.

Although IndiGo’s destinations will remain unchanged, flight frequencies will vary across the week. Wednesday will be the busiest day for the airline under the new schedule. For passengers, the timetable means earlier airport operations at both ends of the day, a restored afternoon Delhi option and a new direct connection to Ambikapur.
