Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) working president and MP Supriya Sule said Pune municipal commissioner Nawal Kishore Ram had sought 15 days to address complaints related to the Uruli Devachi-Fursungi waste depot, where local residents have been protesting.
Sule made the statement after meeting Ram to discuss the waste depot dispute and other civic issues in Pune. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, she said the administration had discussed the concerns in detail and that the municipal commissioner had asked for additional time to resolve the matter.
“The work at the waste depot is being carried out in the wrong manner. It should be done properly,” Sule said, according to the report. She did not provide details of the specific operational changes sought by the administration or the steps planned during the 15-day period.
Residents of Fursungi have been agitating over the waste depot, according to the report.
