Pune Traffic Diversions Begin Near Sugar Complex Over Protest

Pune traffic diversions will be implemented near the Sugar Complex in Shivajinagar from 10 am on October 8 as sugarcane farmers gather for a protest, according to the Pune traffic police. The restrictions will affect movement between Agricultural College Chowk and N. T. Wadi Underpass and will remain in force until the agitation concludes.

Vehicles travelling from Agricultural College Chowk towards N. T. Wadi will not be allowed to continue on the usual route. Motorists have been instructed to turn right at Agricultural College Chowk, travel via Shimla Office Chowk and then proceed towards their destinations.

Traffic approaching the Sugar Complex from N. T. Wadi Underpass will also be restricted. Instead of entering the underpass, motorists have been advised to continue towards Engineering College Chowk and use the alternative route from there.

The protest has been organised by various sugarcane farmers’ groups over their demands. Traffic movement around the venue will be regulated as required to prevent congestion and manage the impact of the gathering on surrounding roads.

The traffic police have asked commuters to take note of the changes and plan their journeys accordingly. Motorists have also been advised to avoid roads near the protest site wherever possible, particularly during the period of the gathering.

The arrangements will remain in place from 10 am until the farmers’ protest ends. The traffic police said the diversions may change depending on conditions at the protest venue, and commuters should follow instructions issued on the ground.
