The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) finds itself embroiled in controversy following allegations raised by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader regarding payments made for civic works that allegedly never materialized. The allegations surfaced during a meeting attended by Pune’s Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, where Bidkar highlighted discrepancies in PMC’s financial disbursements. Specifically, Bidkar claimed that despite PMC having allocated funds for 22 civic projects, no tangible work has been executed on the ground. “I have submitted a detailed list of these contracts to the municipal commissioner,” the leader stated, underscoring concerns over potential financial mismanagement within the civic administration.
