PM to Unveil Rs 26000 Cr Projects in Bikaner on May 22
Prime Minister will visit Deshnoke in Bikaner on May 22 to dedicate and launch multiple infrastructure projects valued at over ₹26,000 crore.
His itinerary includes inaugurating rail, road, power, and water projects aimed at accelerating the region’s connectivity and sustainability goals. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the visit will begin with darshan at the Karni Mata Temple, followed by the inauguration of the redeveloped Deshnoke Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The Prime Minister will also flag off the new Bikaner-Mumbai express train. A key highlight of the visit is the inauguration of 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations spread across 86 districts in 18 states and union territories, constructed at a cost of over ₹1,100 crore. These stations blend modern amenities with local architectural themes to improve travel experience and accessibility.
In alignment with Indian Railways’ 100% electrification goal, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the Churu-Sadulpur rail line and dedicate electrification projects covering over 940 km across Rajasthan and neighbouring states. This includes the Suratgarh-Phalodi, Phulera-Degana, Udaipur-Himmatnagar, Phalodi-Jaisalmer, and Samdari-Barmer routes. The Prime Minister will also announce the launch of ₹4,850 crore worth of roadway projects, including three vehicle underpasses and the strengthening of highways leading up to the Indo-Pak border—crucial for both economic mobility and national security. In the energy sector, PM Modi will lay the foundation for solar projects in Bikaner and Nawa, along with key transmission systems under PowerGrid’s infrastructure expansion. He will also inaugurate renewable energy facilities that are expected to reduce carbon emissions and enhance green energy supply across western India. Among the 25 state government projects being launched are upgrades to 12 state highways covering over 750 km, with plans to extend a further 900 km. The Prime Minister will also open nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur to boost the healthcare workforce.
Water infrastructure will see a boost with rural water supply and fluorosis mitigation projects in Jhunjhunu, and restructuring of urban water schemes in seven towns of Pali district under AMRUT 2.0. The visit signals a strategic push to enhance regional development and infrastructure capacity across Rajasthan, while also advancing India’s clean energy and transportation objectives.
