Pidilite Industries reported a 7.16 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 626.46 crore for the September quarter of FY27, even as the adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals maker faced high material inflation and rising expenses.
The company’s profit stood at Rs 584.6 crore in the July-September quarter of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations rose 20.9 per cent to Rs 4,297.59 crore in the quarter, compared with Rs 3,554.44 crore a year earlier.
Pidilite said earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation grew 3.1 per cent over the second quarter of FY26, with the EBITDA margin at 20.5 per cent. Total expenses increased 29 per cent to Rs 3,632.87 crore during the quarter, while total income, including other income, rose 21 per cent to Rs 4,362.18 crore.
The company’s Consumer & Bazaar segment, which includes products sold through retail channels, reported revenue of Rs 3,423.57 crore, an increase of 20.7 per cent. Its Business to Business segment recorded revenue of Rs 912.59 crore, up 19.87 per cent from the corresponding quarter.
Pidilite said the Business to Business segment covers sales to end users and professional users including carpenters, painters, plumbers, mechanics, households and offices. The segment therefore spans a wide range of construction, repair, maintenance and everyday built-environment activity, although the company did not provide a separate breakdown of construction-related demand in the supplied results statement.
Revenue from the company’s ‘others’ segment, which mainly includes the sale of raw materials and operations of a non-banking finance company, rose 79.5 per cent to Rs 25.37 crore in the quarter.
For the first half of FY27, Pidilite’s total consolidated income increased 21 per cent to Rs 9,005.73 crore. Managing Director Sudhanshu Vats said the company had sustained its growth momentum in the second quarter, with broad-based double-digit volume growth leading to revenue growth of more than 20 per cent.
“Despite very high material inflation, amidst unprecedented volatility and uncertainty, we delivered steady margins in H1 FY27,” Vats said in the company’s earnings statement. He added that Pidilite remained confident of carrying the first-half business momentum into the second half of the financial year.
The results come as input-cost volatility remains a key operating factor for manufacturers supplying materials used in construction, interiors, repairs and maintenance. Pidilite’s reported expense growth was higher than its profit growth during the quarter, while the company’s margin remained at 20.5 per cent at the EBITDA level.
Shares of Pidilite Industries closed at Rs 1,392 on the BSE on Wednesday, down 4.13 per cent. The company’s next reported performance will indicate whether the revenue growth and volume momentum cited for the first half continue through the second half of FY27.
