Kochi-based technology firm Nuventure has launched its dedicated AI Innovation Lab, a move aimed at equipping India’s startups and small businesses with tailored artificial intelligence solutions.
Marking its 15th anniversary, the company has responded to India’s growing appetite for digital transformation with a sharp focus on affordability, sustainability, and impact-driven outcomes. The AI Innovation Lab, which is positioned as a centre of excellence, is intended to demystify AI adoption for businesses that traditionally remain underserved by large tech providers. By offering advisory services, bespoke AI integration, and real-time implementation support, Nuventure aims to become a catalyst for empowering India’s next generation of entrepreneurs. “The AI wave is here, but most companies don’t know how to ride it,” said Jayakrishnan AC, COO of Nuventure. “We want to make this journey simpler and more viable for those who would otherwise be left out.”
Nuventure’s own tryst with artificial intelligence began nearly half a year ago with in-house experimentation. What started as internal process enhancement is now being extended outward to support other organisations—especially those in energy and water management. One of the key innovations showcased during the Lab’s launch was a technology that promises to slash energy consumption by up to 40 per cent, leveraging AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
A standout application was a smart motor scheduling system, designed to optimise energy use in residential complexes.
“We found that motors running unnecessarily in apartment blocks can cause massive energy waste. With AI, we can now schedule operations, predict performance issues, and save resources,” Jayakrishnan explained. Such sustainable solutions reflect the dual commitment of the Lab—to deliver cost efficiencies while also promoting eco-conscious practices.Another major development unveiled was NuWave, a cloud-based IoT control platform. Designed with modularity in mind, NuWave enables businesses to configure their own rules and logic—for instance, setting a pump to run in specific cycles and receiving real-time updates. Tinu Cleatus, Nuventure’s Managing Director and CEO, described it as a shift from mobile app limitations to an adaptable, scalable digital ecosystem. The goal is to let businesses harness the power of smart automation, no matter their scale.
With export experience to the European Union and a growing footprint in the Indian innovation landscape, Nuventure’s AI Innovation Lab sets a strong precedent for regional tech leadership emerging from Tier-II cities like Kochi. The firm’s offerings align well with India’s broader digital mission, especially under the Digital India framework, where inclusive and sustainable growth is key.
By targeting sectors like water and energy—both crucial to the climate and urban sustainability narrative—Nuventure is also contributing to long-term eco-friendly solutions. With the AI Innovation Lab now operational, the firm’s vision of transforming small enterprises into smart enterprises appears not only timely but essential in today’s rapidly evolving tech ecosystem.
