New Farrukhabad Link Expressway to Connect Four Major Expressways
The Farrukhabad Link Expressway, is set to drastically improve regional connectivity, economic growth, and travel ease. With an investment of ₹92 crore, this 92-kilometre stretch will connect four key expressways, including the Agra-Lucknow, Bundelkhand, Ganga, and Yamuna Expressways, making it a vital link in the state’s road network.Beginning at the Agra-Lucknow and Bundelkhand Expressway interchange in Etawah and terminating at the Ganga Expressway in Hardoi, the new link expressway will connect major cities like Agra and Chitrakoot.
The road will also pass through areas such as Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, and Kannauj, all of which will benefit from enhanced accessibility. This will open up new routes for commuters and ease the movement of goods, which will be particularly beneficial for local industries and agriculture.Currently, Farrukhabad lacks direct connectivity to any major expressway, which has hindered the growth of local businesses and industries. The Farrukhabad Link Expressway will not only address this issue but also provide a direct route to tourism hotspots like Neem Karoli Dham, benefiting the religious tourism sector.
With better infrastructure, farmers will also have improved access to markets outside Uttar Pradesh, facilitating the movement of agricultural products.
The expressway is expected to positively impact approximately 35 villages, offering them better connectivity and reducing the risk of flood-related disruptions that often affect these regions. A recent drone survey has been conducted to assess the project area and ensure its feasibility. For commuters in Delhi, the link expressway will also provide a quicker route to Agra, improving the overall travel experience. Experts have highlighted that the project will play a crucial role in stimulating the local economy by making transportation more efficient and connecting previously isolated regions to the rest of the state and beyond. As the project progresses, it promises to be a milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure development.
