Nashik Traffic Diversions Get Citizen Feedback Push Ahead of Kumbh

Nashik traffic diversions for Simhastha Kumbh events are being accompanied by a citizen feedback initiative, with the city police publishing short social media videos on pedestrian routes, parking areas and roads that will be closed during major gatherings.

The police have appealed to residents to share suggestions on how traffic can be managed more effectively as devotees arrive in the city for Kumbh-related events. Officials said citizens can post queries and suggestions in the comments on the police department’s social media updates, and feasible inputs may be incorporated into the traffic management plan.

The initiative comes as traffic restrictions and diversions are being implemented in different parts of Nashik, particularly around the Ramkund area, where a large number of devotees are expected to gather. The police videos provide route guidance, identify parking locations and explain other instructions for people travelling to event venues.

Ahead of the Dhwajarohan, or flag-hoisting, event scheduled for Saturday, Nashik city police have released short videos explaining pedestrian routes for devotees, parking arrangements and roads that will be closed during the programme. The videos are being shared in a simple format intended to make route and access information easier to understand.

The communication campaign has been released under the tagline ‘Nashikkars We’ve Got Your Back’. According to police officials, the videos have received appreciation from a large number of people. The content is designed to give residents and visitors information before they begin their journey, rather than leaving them to rely only on diversions and instructions at the site.

The traffic arrangements are being carried out under the direction of Nashik city police commissioner Sandeep Karnik. The police have not announced that every suggestion received from citizens will be adopted; officials said inputs would be considered if they were found feasible. This places the feedback exercise alongside the department’s existing traffic planning and operational decisions for the events.

The police said citizen feedback has been an area of emphasis in different aspects of policing. For the Kumbh events, that approach is being used specifically for mobility-related concerns, including the movement of pedestrians, access to parking and the communication of road closures.

For devotees travelling to Ramkund and other event locations, the police’s social media updates are intended to provide the latest available instructions on routes and access. The immediate traffic management effort will continue around the Dhwajarohan event, with route guidance, parking information and road-closure details forming the main elements of the public advisories.
