The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued tenders worth Rs 21 crore to construct six elevated water tanks across different parts of the city. Each tank will have a capacity of 20 lakh litres, totaling an additional 1.2 crore litres in water storage. Locations include Hirawadi, Nashik West, Satpur, Nashik Road, Pathardi, and Krushna Nagar. The tenders close on November 12, with bids opening on November 13. Subject to standing committee approval and work orders, construction is expected to commence by the end of November and take 12 to 18 months for completion. This infrastructure development aims to address the growing water demand due to Nashik’s expanding population, which has increased from about 14 lakh in 2014 to around 25 lakh currently. Several packages include associated rising, gravity, and distribution pipelines to enhance overall water supply efficiency.
