Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari Gets Final Safety Check Before Parade

Mysuru Dasara’s Jamboo Savari will be held on Wednesday after district minister in charge Dr Yatindra Siddaramaiah reviewed seating, barricading and parking arrangements at the Amba Vilas Palace complex on Tuesday evening.

The inspection focused on preparations for the grand procession, the main attraction of the Dasara festivities. Siddaramaiah examined the seating arrangements created inside the palace premises, the barricades installed for the event and the parking arrangements designated for vehicles carrying dignitaries.

Following the review, the minister directed officials to ensure that members of the public and tourists arriving from across India and abroad do not face inconvenience during the procession. He instructed the authorities to complete all arrangements in an orderly and safe manner.

The preparations place the palace complex at the centre of the city’s event-management effort ahead of the procession. Seating and barricading are intended to organise movement around the venue, while the parking plan is meant to manage access for dignitaries and keep vehicle movement from disrupting arrangements at the palace.

The inspection was attended by Mysuru Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar and Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya. Their participation brought the district administration, city police, local government administration and the Palace Board into the final coordination process.

The minister’s instructions placed public convenience and safety at the centre of the remaining preparations. The report did not provide details of the number of visitors expected, the extent of traffic diversions, the number of seating spaces or the specific parking locations for the public. It also did not state whether any additional transport or emergency-response arrangements had been announced.

With the Jamboo Savari scheduled for Wednesday, the inspection marked the final stage of preparations described in the report. Officials are expected to implement the seating, barricading and parking arrangements reviewed at the palace and ensure that the procession proceeds without inconvenience to residents and visitors.
