Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari Gets Final Safety and Parking Checks

Mysuru district in-charge minister Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah reviewed the arrangements for the Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari at the Amba Vilas Palace on Tuesday evening, directing officials to ensure that visitors and residents face no inconvenience during the procession scheduled for Wednesday.

The inspection covered the seating arrangements created inside the palace premises, the installation of barricades and parking facilities for vehicles carrying dignitaries. The review came as preparations entered their final stage for the flagship procession, one of the main attractions of the Dasara festival.

Officials were instructed to complete the arrangements in an orderly and safe manner for members of the public as well as tourists arriving from different parts of India and abroad. The directions focused on keeping facilities ready before the procession and ensuring that movement around the venue does not cause difficulties for visitors.

The palace precincts are a key operational point for the Jamboo Savari because the arrangements there include seating for attendees, controlled access through barricades and designated parking for official vehicles. The inspection therefore brought together administrative, police, district-level and palace officials responsible for different parts of the event management system.

District Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, Mysuru City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar and Deputy Director of the Palace Board T.S. Subramanya accompanied the minister during the inspection.

The arrangements reviewed at the palace are part of the public-facing preparations for an event that draws residents and visitors to Mysuru. Seating capacity, barricading and vehicle parking directly shape how people access and experience the procession, while coordination between the district administration, police and Palace Board determines how responsibilities are managed at the venue.

The minister’s instructions placed emphasis on safety and convenience rather than on any new change to the procession itself. The report did not specify the number of seats, barricades, parking spaces or visitors expected to attend, and no revised route or traffic diversion plan was announced in the information available.

The Jamboo Savari was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, with the final preparations being reviewed at the palace on the preceding evening. Officials were directed to ensure that the arrangements were completed and maintained for the public and tourists during the event.
