Mumbai Traffic Updates: Andheri Road Shut Until May 2027

Mumbai traffic updates issued by the city traffic police will affect commuters in Andheri East, Marol and Oshiwara, with two road closures linked to infrastructure works remaining in force until May 31, 2027. The Seven Hills Junction–Lok Bharati Junction road will close from November 6, while the Mogra Nala bridge in Oshiwara has also been shut for demolition and reconstruction.

According to a notification issued by the MIDC Traffic Division, the road from Seven Hills Junction towards Lok Bharati Junction will be closed to all vehicles to allow road concreting and stormwater drain construction. The closure will affect traffic moving between Marol-Maroshi Road, Seven Hills Hospital, Lok Bharati Junction and surrounding areas.

The restriction has been imposed under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The notification was issued by Pradeep Chavan, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Eastern Suburbs Traffic. It will take effect on November 6, 2026, and remain in force until May 31, 2027.

Traffic police have prescribed an alternate route for vehicles approaching from Seven Hills Junction. Motorists will be diverted through Military Road, Tanvi Super Market Junction and Marol Bhavan before continuing towards their destinations. Commuters have been advised to follow traffic police instructions and diversion signs while travelling through the area.

The closure is expected to affect peak-hour movement in Andheri East and Marol. Motorists using the affected road have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow additional travel time. The notification does not provide a separate reopening schedule before May 31, 2027.

A second traffic restriction has been announced in Oshiwara, where the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will demolish and rebuild the Mogra Nala bridge on Pramod Navalkar Marg. The bridge connects SAB TV Road with Link Road and has been closed to vehicular traffic in both directions.

The Mumbai Police said the bridge had become dilapidated and would be demolished and reconstructed at the same location by the BMC. The restriction falls under the jurisdiction of the Oshiwara Traffic Division and will remain in place until May 31, 2027, according to the traffic notification.

Together, the restrictions will keep two important local links unavailable for several months while civic infrastructure works are carried out. Commuters travelling through Andheri East, Marol and Oshiwara will need to use the notified diversions and monitor instructions from the traffic authorities. The current official timeline for both restrictions runs until May 31, 2027.
