Mumbai Metro 3 passengers will pay less for one-day and three-day passes, while the validity of 45-trip and 60-trip monthly passes has been extended from 30 days to 45 days, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation has announced, according to a report citing MMRC officials.
The one-day pass for the Aarey-Cuffe Parade underground corridor has been reduced from Rs 280 to Rs 210. The three-day pass, which allows passengers to travel across the Metro 3 route during the validity period, will now cost Rs 600 instead of Rs 700.
The fare changes reduce the price of the one-day pass by Rs 70 and the three-day pass by Rs 100. The revised rates are intended to make travel on the corridor more affordable, particularly during the festive period, the report said.
MMRC has also extended the validity of its 45-trip and 60-trip monthly trip passes by 15 days. Passengers purchasing either pass can now use the allotted trips over 45 days instead of the earlier 30-day period. The report did not specify any change in the prices of these two passes.
The 33.5-km Aarey-Cuffe Parade Metro 3 corridor began operating at full capacity in October 2025. The line connects the southern end of Mumbai with the city’s northern suburban network through an underground route, bringing South Mumbai within the operational reach of the metro system.
The corridor has seen stronger passenger response since the entire route became operational. According to information attributed to MMRC officials in the report, approximately 1.75 lakh passengers currently use Metro 3 every day.
The fare revision follows the introduction of several passenger facilities on the corridor, including monthly trip passes, one-day and three-day passes, and digital ticketing. The short-duration passes are particularly relevant for visitors and occasional users who may not travel frequently enough to purchase regular multi-trip products.
The extended validity of the 45-trip and 60-trip passes also changes the way regular passengers can use their travel entitlement. Instead of completing the allotted trips within one calendar month, commuters now have an additional 15 days. The measure may be relevant to passengers whose travel patterns vary because of holidays, leave or hybrid work schedules, although the report does not provide usage data for these categories.
Metro 3’s full operation has added a high-capacity public transport link between Aarey and Cuffe Parade, including important employment, commercial and residential areas in the city. The revised fare products will now determine how effectively the corridor attracts occasional users and retains regular passengers.
The updated one-day, three-day and monthly trip-pass arrangements are the latest passenger measures announced by MMRC for the corridor. The authority’s next operational step is to make the revised fares and validity conditions available to passengers through its ticketing and digital-sales channels.
