A major investment aimed at accelerating smart meter rollout across West Bengal is expected to strengthen Kolkata’s transition towards a more digitally managed electricity network, as utilities increasingly prioritise technology-led reforms to improve billing efficiency, reduce power losses and modernise ageing distribution systems.
