Khopoli local train services will be disrupted on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for two months from September 18-19, 2026, as Central Railway carries out traffic and power blocks between Palasdhari and Khopoli for track-related work.
The blocks will be imposed from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on the specified days, Central Railway said in a press release issued on Wednesday. Suburban train services between Palasdhari and Khopoli will not be available during the maintenance window.
The railway has cancelled the Khopoli-Karjat local scheduled to depart Khopoli at 12.30 am. The CSMT-Khopoli local departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 11.18 pm on Wednesday will be short-terminated at Karjat when the block is in force.
Central Railway has also announced the last services that passengers can use before the maintenance work begins. The last local from CSMT for Khopoli will depart at 10.57 pm, while the last Khopoli-Karjat local before the block will leave Khopoli at 11.20 pm.
Services will resume with the Karjat-Khopoli local departing Karjat at 5.43 am. The first local from Khopoli after the block will be the Khopoli-CSMT service scheduled to leave at 4.50 am. The timings are particularly relevant for passengers travelling on the Karjat-Khopoli section during the late-night and early-morning period.
Central Railway said the maintenance blocks are required for infrastructure upkeep and passenger safety. It appealed to passengers to cooperate with the Railway Administration and bear with the inconvenience caused during the work.
The announcement follows other recent track-strengthening activity by the Mumbai Division and Central Railway. In a separate statement, the railway said it completed an eight-hour-30-minute block at Pune Yard on September 13 to upgrade a 52 kg Diamond Layout to 60 kg. The work, scheduled from 8.15 am to 5 pm, was completed at 4.45 pm, 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Central Railway said this was the fifth 52 kg Diamond Layout in Pune Yard to be converted to 60 kg.
The Palasdhari-Khopoli blocks will continue for two months, with the next affected services determined by the announced Thursday-to-Saturday maintenance schedule. Passengers using the section have been asked to check the revised last and first train timings before travelling.
