The Cyberabad police will impose traffic diversions and restrictions at Khajaguda Junction for 60 days from September 26 because of water pipeline works, affecting routes linking Shaikpet, Gachibowli, Biodiversity Junction and Nanakramguda.
The restrictions will affect traffic movement on the service road and the free-left movement from KIMS Hospital towards Nanakramguda Road. Right-turn traffic from the Biodiversity side towards Nanakramguda Road will also be affected during the work period.
The police have warned that congestion is likely in and around Khajaguda Junction and advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance. Commuters using the junction have been asked to follow designated alternative routes instead of attempting to pass through the restricted movements.
Traffic travelling from Shaikpet Flyover towards Khajaguda can use Timberlake Colony Road, proceed before KIMS Hospital and then join Nanakramguda Road. Vehicles coming from beneath Shaikpet Flyover can use High-Tension Road as an alternative route.
Motorists travelling from Gachibowli and Biodiversity Level-1 Flyover can take the Pakwan U-Turn, continue via Khajaguda Lake Road and reach Khajaguda. The route changes are intended to keep traffic moving while the water pipeline works are carried out at the junction.
The affected roads serve connections between residential areas, hospitals, employment districts and major junctions in Hyderabad’s western corridor. Commuters travelling between Shaikpet, Khajaguda, Gachibowli, Biodiversity and Nanakramguda may therefore need to allow additional travel time during the restriction period.
The Cyberabad police have urged motorists to use the prescribed diversions and avoid congestion around the work zone. The restrictions are scheduled to remain in place for 60 days from September 26.
