Kedila Bridge Accident Injures Three After Dumper Blocks Ahmedabad Road

The Kedila Bridge accident in Ahmedabad injured three people after a company bus hit a stationary garbage dumper on the road from Isanpur towards Jashodanagar on Friday night, according to a report by Divya Bhaskar. The dumper had reportedly broken down and was standing in the middle of the road when the collision occurred.

The injured people were identified as bus driver Narendrasinh Jhala and company employees Vishalsinh Barot and Ashokkumar Parmar. They were taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining what were described as minor injuries.

According to the report, Jhala, who lives in Adishwarnagar in Naroda, works as a bus driver for a company based in Sanand. He was travelling to Ahmedabad to drop company employees when the bus reached Kedila Bridge.

The dumper was positioned on the road after becoming inoperative. At the same time, a car travelling through the available side reportedly used its dipper lights. While attempting to avoid the car, the bus moved towards the stationary dumper and crashed into its rear section.

The impact injured Jhala, along with Barot and Parmar, who were standing near the bus door. All three were subsequently taken to hospital. The report did not provide details about the condition of the dumper driver or whether anyone else was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The incident highlights the immediate safety risk created when a disabled heavy vehicle remains in an active traffic lane, particularly on a bridge where space for evasive movement can be limited. The available report, however, does not establish how long the dumper had been standing on the road, whether warning signs or hazard lights were present, or whether the vehicle had received roadside assistance before the collision.

The traffic police at the concerned division registered an informational complaint and began further investigation. The authorities’ inquiry is expected to establish the precise sequence of events and examine the circumstances surrounding the dumper’s position on the bridge.
