Indore Burglary Gang Busted After Locked Homes Targeted, 2 Held

Tejaji Nagar police in Indore have arrested two men and detained a juvenile for allegedly targeting locked houses and flats, recovering gold and silver ornaments and a motorcycle valued at around Rs 2.5 lakh in connection with two burglary cases.

The arrested men were identified as Ajay alias Jadu Girwal, 30, a resident of Hukmakhedi, and Ganesh Panwar, 22, from Sanjay Gandhi Nagar in Hukmakhedi. Police also detained a juvenile who has allegedly been linked to both cases registered at Tejaji Nagar police station.

According to the report, a police team acted on a tip-off on Wednesday and intercepted the three near Sanawadia Road, beyond Nayta Mundla. During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted involvement in a burglary registered at Tejaji Nagar police station. Police recovered gold and silver ornaments and the motorcycle allegedly used in the crimes.

The interrogation also led police to a second alleged burglary at BRG Hills Colony on Sanawadia Road in the Nayta Mundla area. A separate case has been registered at Tejaji Nagar police station in connection with that incident.

Police said the group conducted reconnaissance of locked houses and flats during the daytime and struck when occupants were away. The alleged burglaries were completed within five to 10 minutes after the locks were broken. One member reportedly remained outside with the motorcycle while the other two entered the house or flat to steal valuables.

The recovered property includes 10 gold beads from a mangalsutra, a mangalsutra pendant, two silver anklets and two pairs of silver bangles belonging to children. The recovery was linked by police to the two burglary cases under investigation.

Police records cited in the report show that Ajay has previous cases registered at Rajendra Nagar and Sector-1, Pithampur police stations, including offences under the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The two recent Tejaji Nagar burglary cases have also been registered against him. Ganesh has previous cases involving assault and intimidation at Rajendra Nagar police station, in addition to the two burglary cases.

The juvenile has also been linked to both Tejaji Nagar cases, according to police. The arrests and recoveries form part of the investigation into the two alleged burglaries, with Tejaji Nagar police handling the registered cases.
