The Telangana Housing Board is expected to issue Indiramma Towers allotment letters this week to eligible beneficiaries under the low-income group housing scheme, after completing field verification of candidates selected through a lucky draw, vice chairperson VP Gautham said on Sunday.
Gautham said field verification had been completed for 6,660 candidates selected through the draw. Verification of the remaining candidates is also expected to be completed within the week, after which allotment letters will be issued to those found eligible under government rules.
The allotment letters will include details of the first instalment, the amount payable, the payment deadline and other instructions for beneficiaries. The Housing Board said payments must be made only to the official bank account specified in the allotment letter.
Gautham cautioned beneficiaries against brokers and middlemen who allegedly claim that they can secure housing allotments or influence officials. He said such individuals have no role in the allotment process and urged beneficiaries not to pay bribes, commissions or any other amount to unauthorised persons.
Beneficiaries have been advised to report anyone demanding money for an allotment or directing them to deposit funds into a personal or unauthorised account. Complaints can be made to Housing Board officials or the police, and legal action will be initiated against those involved in such activities, Gautham said.
The warning is significant because the allotment stage involves both eligibility confirmation and the first payment, creating a risk of confusion over official instructions and bank details. Beneficiaries have been asked to rely only on the allotment letter, announcements issued by authorised Housing Board officials and information published on the Telangana Housing Board website.
