Northern Railways has announced two new summer special trains between Delhi and key cities in Bihar—Saharsa and Darbhanga—to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the vacation season.
These reserved express services will run for a limited period until mid-July. Train No. 04058 will depart from New Delhi at 19:30 hrs every Tuesday and Friday, beginning 20 May through 11 July. The return service, Train No. 04057, will leave Saharsa Junction at 19:50 hrs every Wednesday and Saturday from 21 May to 12 July. A total of 16 round trips have been scheduled. The train will halt at key stations including Govindpuri, Prayagraj Junction, Varanasi, Ghazipur City, Ballia, Suraimanpur, Chhapra Junction, Hajipur, Shahpur Patoree, Barauni, Begusarai, Khagaria, and Mansi Junction in both directions. The rake will consist of AC 3-tier, Sleeper class, and General class coaches. This train will stop at Aligarh Junction, Kanpur Central, Unnao, Lucknow, Sultanpur, Jaunpur City, Varanasi Junction, Aunrihar, Ghazipur City, Ballia, Suraimanpur, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Samastipur before reaching Darbhanga.
Indian Railways has introduced these services to facilitate smoother travel amid peak summer demand and reduce overcrowding on regular routes. Railway officials have urged passengers to reserve their seats early, as these trains are fully reserved and expected to experience high demand. All travel must comply with Indian Railways’ current safety and reservation protocols.
