IKEA India will open its second Bengaluru store on November 5 at Purva Zentech on Kanakapura Main Road, extending the Swedish home furnishing retailer’s physical presence to south Bengaluru and placing a large-format retail destination close to the Konanakunte Cross Namma Metro station.
The store spans more than 80,000 sq. ft. and is expected to serve customers from south Bengaluru and neighbouring areas. It comes around four years after IKEA opened its first Bengaluru store at Nagasandra in 2022.
The new outlet will offer more than 5,200 products for customers to explore, with over 3,000 items available for immediate takeaway, according to the company. IKEA’s complete range of more than 7,000 products can also be ordered in-store or through its website, app and Shop by Phone service.
The location near a Namma Metro station gives the store a direct connection to Bengaluru’s expanding public transport network, although the company has not provided details of expected customer volumes, parking capacity or specific access arrangements for metro users. The store’s location on Kanakapura Main Road also places it within a fast-growing southern Bengaluru corridor with residential and commercial development.
Customers will also have access to a 100-seater IKEA Restaurant offering Swedish favourites and local treats. The company said the store has been designed around what it has learned from customers about how they live and how their needs are changing.
“IKEA India’s first ‘Plan and Order Point’ opens in Bengaluru” was among the company’s earlier expansions in the city, with the Whitefield facility intended to cater to east Bengaluru. IKEA began its Bengaluru journey through e-commerce in 2021 before opening its first full-format store.
Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, said Bengaluru had a special place in the company’s India journey and that the retailer had been welcomed into thousands of homes over the past five years. He said opening the second store reflected IKEA’s commitment to becoming more accessible and convenient for customers.
The company said IKEA reaches more than 300 million visitors across India through its online and offline channels and has a community of more than three million IKEA Family members. The south Bengaluru store is scheduled to open to customers on November 5.
