Hyderabad traffic diversions around the Vaishali Nagar Railway Underpass will continue until October 14 after delays in road-widening and stormwater drain works kept the route from reopening. The Cyberabad Traffic Police said the restrictions, originally scheduled to end earlier, have been extended from October 8 to 14 across routes connecting Hafeezpet, Kondapur, My Home Mangala, Raghavendra Nagar Colony and nearby areas.
The extension was announced because the ongoing works remain incomplete, according to the traffic advisory reported by Telangana Today. Officials said the earlier advisory could not be withdrawn, requiring vehicles to continue using alternate routes around the underpass.
Traffic from My Home Mangala Apartments towards Hafeezpet will be diverted through My Home Mangala T-Junction, Raghavendra Nagar Colony, Hi-Tension Road, RTA Office Kondapur and the Hafeezpet Railway Overbridge or flyover. The same route will be used for traffic travelling from the Telangana Contractors Cultural Club towards the Vaishali Nagar Underpass and onward to Hafeezpet and Allwyn Junction.
Vehicles travelling from Hafeezpet, RTC Colony and My Home Jewel towards My Home Mangala will be diverted via Pipeline Road, the Hafeezpet ROB or flyover, the road near Genpact, Kondapur-Allwyn Junction and the Government School U-turn before proceeding towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
Traffic from Vasavi Lake City and Hafeezpet Lake towards My Home Mangala will be directed from the Spire One Apartments U-turn towards the Hafeezpet ROB or flyover. Vehicles will then continue via Genpact, Kondapur-Allwyn Junction and the Government School U-turn. Commuters travelling from Gopal Nagar and Calvary Temple towards My Home Mangala will have to take a right at the Hafeezpet RUB or underpass and proceed through Kondapur-Allwyn Junction and the Hafeezpet ROB or flyover.
The affected routes connect residential colonies, apartment communities and major junctions in Hyderabad’s western corridor. The continuing restrictions mean commuters using the Vaishali Nagar Underpass will need to allow additional travel time and follow traffic personnel and diversion signage during the extended period.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police have asked commuters to use alternate routes, plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with personnel deployed to manage traffic. The restrictions are scheduled to remain in force through October 14 while the road-widening and stormwater drain works continue.
