A public representative has formally urged municipal authorities to prioritise infrastructure improvements in Dammaiguda’s Fourth Division, citing damaged roads, recurring drainage failures, insufficient street lighting and the need for durable road construction in key residential stretches. Among the major concerns is a heavily used internal road linking the old village area with a government school. The route serves surrounding residential colonies and is frequently used by students, local residents and emergency vehicles. Years of wear and seasonal rainfall have left the carriageway in poor condition, affecting mobility and increasing safety risks for daily commuters. Another long-standing issue relates to an underground drainage network in Sai Priya Colony, where repeated blockages have reportedly resulted in sewage overflow. Residents say recurring drainage failures not only disrupt daily life but also raise public health concerns, particularly during the monsoon when stagnant water can contribute to sanitation risks. Civic officials have been requested to inspect the affected stretch and undertake permanent corrective measures.
Street lighting has also emerged as a concern in several parts of the locality.
