Students and staff travelling between Osmania University’s campus, Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University at Koti and surrounding areas will have improved public transport connectivity from Monday, after the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation increased the frequency of buses operating via the OU campus.
The enhanced services are expected to assist postgraduate students residing on the Osmania University campus who commute to the women’s university. Other students, faculty members and staff travelling between the campus, VCIWU and Koti are also expected to benefit.
The service enhancement is intended to ease daily commuting difficulties and help passengers reach the university in time for academic and other activities. The report does not specify the earlier and revised number of services or the exact timetable for the route.
Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Surya Dhananjay thanked Telangana transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, TGSRTC managing director V. Nagi Reddy, Greater Hyderabad zone executive director Anchuri Sridhar and other officials for responding to the university’s transport requirements.
University Registrar Prof. Gaddam Mallesham said the additional services would make daily travel smoother for students and staff and reduce difficulties associated with commuting. The university said this would support regular participation in academic and other activities.
The increased bus frequency will operate via the Osmania University campus from Monday, providing a direct public transport response to the commuting needs identified by the university.
