Humain AI Data Centres Get $2.6 Billion Saudi Aramco Boost

Saudi Aramco will acquire a 49 percent stake in Saudi state-backed AI company Humain and invest about $2.6 billion this year, strengthening the company’s plans to build large-scale computing and data-centre infrastructure in the region.

The Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, will retain a 51 percent stake in Humain, according to a joint statement reported by Economic Times. Aramco will make the investment through a wholly owned subsidiary and contribute cash, artificial intelligence assets, computing resources and digital capabilities.

Humain was launched in May 2025 and is working to expand across AI infrastructure, cloud platforms and language models. The company plans to deploy three gigawatts of AI data-centre capacity by 2030, the statement said. It has also developed an Arabic-language large language model.

Aramco’s planned injection amounts to approximately 9.9 billion Saudi riyals, or $2.6 billion, during 2026. The company said the investment would help Humain scale to meet rising regional and global demand for AI computing capacity.

The transaction brings one of the world’s largest oil companies by market capitalisation into a deeper infrastructure partnership with Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. PIF has been leading the kingdom’s economic diversification efforts, while Aramco remains a central company in the oil-dependent Saudi economy.

The announcement also links Aramco’s own technology programme to the new AI venture. Amin H. Nasser, Aramco’s president and chief executive, said artificial intelligence had helped the oil company generate $11.3 billion in technology-related value since 2023.

The planned 3GW capacity target places data centres and computing infrastructure at the centre of Humain’s expansion. The statement did not provide a project-by-project breakdown of the planned facilities, locations, construction schedule or energy requirements. It said only that PIF and Aramco would contribute AI assets, capabilities and talent to accelerate Humain’s growth globally.
