Lucknow: In a heartwarming display of compassion and quick thinking, a group of Good Samaritans in Lucknow came together to save the life of a heat-stricken labourer named Ghulam Rastogi.
The 40-year-old man, who had been residing in the city for work, collapsed unconscious on Lucknow University Road, succumbing to the sweltering heat. Eyewitnesses, including a senior photojournalist, sprang into action upon witnessing the distressing scene. With remarkable efficiency, they provided immediate assistance to the stricken man. The photojournalist, having observed Ghulam’s plight from the midst of traffic, wasted no time in rushing to his aid. Utilizing his water bottle, he administered much-needed hydration to the labourer, sprinkling water over his head to help alleviate the effects of heatstroke.
The journalist’s proactive response was quickly bolstered by the assistance of nearby youths, who swiftly came to Ghulam’s aid. Together, they facilitated the relocation of the labourer to a safer location along the roadside, ensuring that traffic flow was not disrupted. Recognizing the severity of the situation, one of the bystanders promptly alerted the city police, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement personnel.
Within minutes, two constables arrived at the scene, providing further assistance and essential hydration to the heat-stricken worker.
