Heavy rain across Mahabubabad and Warangal districts has prompted district administrations to intensify monitoring of tanks, streams and drains as further rainfall remains possible. Mahabubabad recorded average rainfall of 82.1 mm, while Warangal recorded an average of 78.7 mm, according to district officials.
Nellikudur received the highest rainfall in Mahabubabad district at 123.6 mm, followed by Maripeda at 122.6 mm and Peddavangara at 118.6 mm. Thorrur recorded 104.6 mm, Chinnagudur 103.4 mm and Narsimhulapet 101.6 mm. Dantalapalli received 89.2 mm, while Dornakal and Kesamudram recorded 83.2 mm each. Mahabubabad town recorded 75.4 mm.
The district’s total rainfall was reported at 1,314.2 mm. The concentration of heavy rainfall across several mandals has placed greater importance on the condition and carrying capacity of local drainage channels, water bodies and streams, particularly in areas identified as vulnerable by the administration.
Warangal district also recorded widespread heavy rainfall. Geesugonda received the highest rainfall in the district at 104.7 mm, followed by Wardhannapet at 98.6 mm and Sangem at 96.8 mm. Parvathagiri recorded 89.1 mm, Warangal 87.7 mm and Chennaraopet 86 mm.
According to an official report, heavy rainfall was recorded in Geesugonda, Duggondi, Chennaraopet, Sangem, Wardhannapet, Rayaparthy, Parvathagiri, Nekkonda, Khila Warangal and Warangal mandals. Moderate rainfall was recorded in Nallabelly, Narsampet and Khanapur.
The rainfall has required coordination between district officials, municipal administrations and local field-level staff. Hanamkonda Collector Chahat Bajpai directed officials to remain alert and continuously monitor water levels in tanks, streams and drains. She also asked officials to take precautionary measures in vulnerable areas.
Bajpai held a Google Meet from the Hanamkonda Collectorate with officials from various departments, municipal commissioners, tahsildars and mandal parishad development officers. The meeting focused on maintaining vigilance across administrative jurisdictions and ensuring that local authorities are prepared to respond to conditions arising from continued rainfall.
The administration’s directions place water-level monitoring and precautionary action at the centre of the immediate response. With the possibility of more heavy rainfall, officials, staff and local administration personnel have been instructed to remain vigilant and take necessary precautionary measures.
