Hazaribag Police Raid 108 Locations in Overnight Safety Drive

Hazaribag police conducted an overnight district-wide enforcement drive, deploying 45 teams and 191 personnel to raid 108 locations identified as potential gathering points for anti-social activity, eve-teasing and public nuisance. The operation resulted in 47 people being detained for questioning, according to district police officials.

The special drive was carried out on the directives of Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar, with personnel from all police stations in the district participating. Police teams conducted checks at locations where groups were reportedly gathering and creating disturbances.

The 47 people detained during the operation were taken to different police stations for verification and counselling. Police said they were later released on personal recognisance bonds after being warned against engaging in unlawful activity or creating public nuisance.

The operation targeted locations identified by the police as potential gathering points for miscreants and anti-social elements. The district police did not provide details of any arrests, criminal cases or specific offences registered during the drive in the information released about the operation.

Kumar said the district police would continue such drives to maintain law and order and curb anti-social activities. The enforcement action comes as police forces increasingly use area-based checks and coordinated patrols to respond to complaints about disturbances in public places.

Police also appealed to residents to report incidents of eve-teasing and locations where groups regularly gather and create nuisance. The department said complaints would be promptly verified and appropriate action would be taken against those found involved in unlawful activities.

The scale of the operation, involving all police stations in the district, indicates a coordinated district-level response rather than an action limited to a single locality. The police said similar enforcement drives would continue in the coming days to enhance public safety and deter anti-social behaviour.

Residents have been asked to provide information about recurring disturbances directly to the police so that complaints can be verified and action taken under applicable law. Further drives are expected to be conducted as part of the district police’s continuing law-and-order measures.
