Gurugram Metro Corridor Adds Direct Yellow Line Access
Gurugram’s upcoming metro corridor is set to reshape daily travel patterns with a direct interchange planned between the new network and the Delhi Metro Yellow Line at Millennium City Centre. The connection is expected to improve movement between Gurugram and Delhi while strengthening public transport access across one of the National Capital Region’s fastest-growing urban centres.
The interchange decision places Millennium City Centre at the centre of Gurugram’s future mobility framework. Unlike isolated transit expansions, the planned integration aims to create a connected transport ecosystem where commuters can shift between metro systems without additional road travel, reducing dependence on private vehicles for cross-city journeys. The 28.5-km Gurugram Metro corridor, being developed between Millennium City Centre and Cyber City, will include a network of elevated stations serving residential clusters, commercial districts and employment hubs. A proposed extension towards the Dwarka Expressway is also expected to improve connectivity for emerging urban areas experiencing rapid development pressure. Urban planners view the interchange as an important step towards creating a more efficient metropolitan transport model. Gurugram’s expansion has historically been driven by large employment zones and private vehicle movement, creating challenges around congestion, travel time and road capacity.
A stronger mass transit network could help address these pressures while supporting more sustainable mobility choices. The corridor is designed with multiple interchange points connecting passengers with existing and planned transport systems, including Delhi Metro, Rapid Metro, railway services, city buses and the proposed Regional Rapid Transit System.
