GSB Ganpati 2026 celebrations at King’s Circle in Mumbai will use 555 dedicated security personnel, 100 high-definition and PTZ cameras, and a central command room as the GSB Seva Mandal prepares for its five-day Ganeshotsav from September 14 to 18.
The first look of the GSB Ganpati idol was unveiled on Saturday. The mandal said the Maha Ganapati idol has been adorned with more than 66 kg of pure gold and 335 kg of silver as part of its traditional celebrations.
The 72nd GSB Seva Mandal Ganeshotsav will begin with the unveiling of the sacred Virat Darshan of Lord Maha Ganapati. During the festival, traditional Vedic priests are expected to conduct more than 1 lakh poojas and sevas.
The programme includes Maha Moodganapati Pooja, Moodganapati Pooja, Sahasra Modak Havana, Modak Naivedya, Flower Pooja, Ranga Pooja, Deeparadhana Seva, Durva Archana Seva, Mahabhog Seva, Prasad Vitarana Seva, Sahasra Bhojan Seva, Tulabhar Seva and Annadaan Seva, according to the mandal.
The organisers said fresh prasad meals will be served to around 40,000 devotees every day through the mandal’s annadaan tradition. More than 2 lakh people are expected to be served during the five-day festival, making food distribution one of the key operational components of the event.
Security personnel will work in round-the-clock shifts alongside law enforcement agencies. The venue will be monitored through 100 high-definition and PTZ cameras offering 360-degree, real-time surveillance. The camera network will be connected to a central command room, the mandal said.
The organisers have also secured an insurance policy worth Rs 703.27 crore for the 2026 celebrations. The cover applies to visiting devotees, volunteers and sacred assets, according to the announcement.
In another operational change, the mandal said all seva booking receipts and contributions will be completely digital and paperless. It described the move as part of its environmental sustainability efforts.
The GSB Seva Mandal has invited devotees to attend the five-day Ganeshotsav, which begins on September 14. The celebrations will continue through September 18 at King’s Circle in Mumbai.
