Greater Noida West Society Blocks Deliveries, Residents Protest

Residents of Ajnara Homes in Greater Noida West gathered at the society’s main gate on Monday to protest alleged restrictions on delivery workers, domestic staff and other service providers. The dispute has also brought maintenance payments and the management of basic services under scrutiny in the housing complex in Bisrakh police station limits.

Residents alleged that delivery personnel, carpenters, electricians, maids, cooks and sanitation workers had been stopped from entering the premises. The restrictions reportedly meant that residents had to walk to the main gate to collect food, medicines, drinking water and other online orders. Residents said the delays continued even after police had instructed the maintenance team to restore normal arrangements and not stop outsiders from entering.

According to residents cited in the report, some occupants stopped paying maintenance charges around two months ago because basic facilities were not being provided properly. They alleged that the management subsequently affected services and routine movement in an attempt to pressure residents to resume payments. Resident Dinkar Pandey said people were being made to wait at the gate for permission and questioned why residents should pay maintenance charges when basic facilities were not available.

The disagreement escalated late at night when residents assembled at the main gate and staged a sit-in after deliveries of medicines, food and water were allegedly stopped. Residents also alleged that a member of the maintenance team threatened them and said he would shoot them. The report does not provide independent confirmation of the alleged threat.

Residents submitted a complaint at Bisrakh police station. The report said police had directed the maintenance team to normalise arrangements by Saturday and to avoid preventing outsiders from entering the society. Despite that direction, residents alleged that restrictions continued, leading to renewed anger and the late-night protest.

The dispute reflects the operational dependence of high-rise housing societies on private maintenance systems for access control, security, common services and the entry of workers who support daily life inside the complex. Delivery personnel and domestic workers are not incidental to residents’ routines: restrictions affecting them can quickly become a dispute over access, safety and the obligations attached to maintenance payments.

The maintenance team’s position could not be obtained for the report. Navbharat Times – Noida said its reporter contacted Rajendra Kumaria from the maintenance team for a response, but he did not reply. The allegations about service disruptions, threats and the continuation of entry restrictions therefore remain attributed to the residents and require response from the management and further official clarification.

The immediate next step is the implementation of the police direction to restore normal access and arrangements. The residents’ complaint at Bisrakh police station and the maintenance team’s response will determine how the dispute proceeds.
