Future City Gets Three Women Police Stations in Major Police Reset

The Telangana government has reorganised the Future City commissionerate, creating three women police stations, new traffic units and revised police-station jurisdictions across Shadnagar, Chevella and Maheshwaram. The changes take effect from the date of the notification issued by the state Home Department under Section 7 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

Under the revised structure, Shadnagar and Chevella will function as law-and-order zones, while Amangal, Kothur and Moinabad will be organised as divisions. The order also provides for the creation of Aziznagar police station and redraws the territorial limits of several existing stations, zones and divisions.

Three dedicated women police stations will be established at Maheshwaram, Shadnagar and Chevella. The reorganisation also creates a separate traffic-policing framework with two traffic zones and divisions for Chevella, Shadnagar and Maheshwaram. Traffic police stations have additionally been provided for at Moinabad, Kothur and Amangal.

The order changes the names and administrative placement of some existing police stations. Green Pharma City police station has been renamed Meerkhanpet police station, while Mokila police station has been renamed Peddashapur police station. Other stations have been placed under different zones and divisions as part of the new arrangement.

The detailed annexure to the order redraws the commissionerate’s jurisdiction by reallocating villages and localities among police stations and their supervisory divisions. The revised map covers areas including Amangal, Madgul, Kadthal, Kothur, Nandigama, Keshampet, Shadnagar, Kondurg, Moinabad, Chevella and Ibrahimpatnam, along with adjoining areas.

The reorganisation comes as the Future City policing structure is being formalised across a broad area with multiple existing administrative and traffic units. By specifying station limits, reporting divisions and traffic jurisdictions in a single notification, the order sets out which units will handle law-and-order and traffic responsibilities in the affected localities.

The notification supersedes earlier orders relating to the territorial limits covered by the reorganisation. The new structure is effective from the date on which the order was issued.
