Five-Hour Maintenance Block Borivali-Ram Mandir Line on June 30

Western Railways announced a significant maintenance block on the Borivali to Ram Mandir line for Sunday, June 30th. This five-hour block, set to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., aims to ensure the smooth operation of train services by facilitating necessary maintenance on tracks, signalling, and overhead equipment.

According to a press release issued by Shri Vineet Abhishek – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, during this period, all up and down fast-line trains will be redirected to slow lines between Borivali and Andheri stations. While this block is essential for maintenance, it does not imply a complete halt in local train operations. However, commuters should expect some suburban train cancellations and extended routes on the Harbour line between Borivali and Andheri stations. The impact of this maintenance block is expected to be significant, affecting daily commuters on this busy route. Passengers are advised to seek detailed information from station masters regarding train schedules and cancellations during this period.

This maintenance block comes as part of Western Railway’s broader pre-monsoon preparatory works. Given the severe monsoon rainfall that frequently disrupts Mumbai’s local train operations, the railway authorities have intensified efforts to maintain and upgrade mechanical, signalling, and electrical assets to ensure reliable services during the rainy season. The proactive measures undertaken by Western Railway reflect a commitment to enhancing passenger safety and operational efficiency. The scheduled maintenance on June 30 is crucial for preventing disruptions and maintaining the integrity of Mumbai’s vital suburban rail network.

while the five-hour block between Borivali and Ram Mandir stations on June 30 will necessitate some operational adjustments, it underscores Western Railway’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and service quality, particularly in anticipation of the challenging monsoon months ahead.
“To carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a Jumbo Block of five hours will be taken on Up and Down Fast lines between Borivali and Ram Mandir station from 10.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs on Sunday, 30th June, 2024,” said Western Railways in its press release.
