India’s domestic aviation sector has witnessed an astounding surge in passenger traffic during the first eight months of 2023. Recent data released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation has revealed that domestic airlines have carried an impressive 1190.62 lakh passengers from January to August 2023, marking a substantial growth of 38.27 percent.
August 2023 saw an outstanding monthly growth rate of 23.13 percent, resulting in a passenger count of 148.27 lakh for the month. This surge in passenger numbers serves as a testament to the industry’s resilience.
During August 2023, scheduled domestic airlines received a total of 288 passenger-related complaints, equating to a complaint rate of approximately 0.23 complaints per 10,000 passengers carried. This low rate of complaints and cancellations underscores the industry’s dedication to prioritising customer satisfaction.
