Delhi Voter List Revision Gets Final Special Camp on October 25

Delhi residents will get the final opportunity to add their names to the voter list or correct existing details at special camps being held across all 14,947 polling centres on October 25, according to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. Booth Level Officers will be available to assist citizens with applications and information related to the ongoing revision process.

The camps will support applications for inclusion in the electoral roll, new voter identity cards, address changes and other corrections. Citizens can visit their nearest polling centre to seek help with forms and understand the process related to the special intensive revision of the voter list.

The exercise is intended to include eligible voters who were left out of the electoral roll and resolve discrepancies in existing records. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said that around 29.50 lakh cases had been disposed of out of approximately 33 lakh notices linked to no-mapping and logical discrepancies. These cases have been prepared for consideration in the final voter list.

The figures indicate the scale of the administrative exercise across the capital. The process involves both correcting existing voter records and adding eligible residents whose names are not currently included. The presence of Booth Level Officers at every polling centre is intended to provide residents with assistance while they submit applications or seek clarification.

A total of 4,63,154 Form 6 applications for inclusion in the voter list have been received so far. Of these, 2,50,754 applications were submitted after the claims and objections period began, while 2,12,400 applications were received before the draft voter list was published.

The office has so far disposed of around 1.5 lakh applications. Applications received through both periods will be processed under the prescribed procedure, with their disposal scheduled to be completed by November 30.

The deadline for filing claims and objections is October 30. This means that the October 25 camps are the last scheduled special assistance camps, but citizens will still have time until October 30 to submit claims or objections through the applicable process.

The revision places polling centres at the centre of a large-scale civic verification exercise. For residents, the key steps are to visit the nearest polling centre on October 25 if they need help with inclusion, corrections or address changes, and to submit claims or objections before the October 30 deadline. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office is expected to complete the processing of the applications by November 30.
