The deadline for filing claims and objections during Delhi’s Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls has been extended to October 30, while the final voter list will now be published on December 4 instead of November 4, according to the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer’s office.
The extension gives residents additional time to check the draft electoral roll and seek inclusion or correction of their details. Notices issued during the revision process will be disposed of by November 30, the report said.
Citizens whose names are missing from the draft list can submit Form 6 to seek inclusion as new or eligible voters. Form 8 can be used to correct details such as spelling, age, date of birth or address, or to report a change of residence. Applicants have been advised to submit the required documents and retain the receipt issued after filing.
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office is also organising special camps across Delhi. Camps will be held on September 27 at all 14,947 polling booths in the capital to help eligible residents whose names have not yet been included in the electoral roll. Officials will provide information about the revision process, documentation and the submission of forms at these locations.
The commission has received around 3.25 lakh Form 6 applications so far, according to the report. These applications will be examined before eligible voters are added to the roll. The revised schedule is intended to allow more time for claims, objections and the processing of applications.
Special camps for young voters aged between 18 and 25 have also been announced for September 29 and 30 at colleges, universities and other educational institutions across Delhi. The camps are intended to assist first-time voters with enrolment and related procedures.
Residents can obtain Form 6 or Form 8 from the relevant Booth Level Officer, Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer. They can also apply online through the Election Commission’s voter services portal, voters.eci.gov.in, by selecting the appropriate form, entering their details, uploading documents and submitting the application. Applicants should keep the reference number to track the status of their request.
For notices issued during the revision, the voter services portal provides options including “Submit Document Against Notice Issued” and “List of persons to whom notices have been issued”. Users can select their district, area and polling station to access the relevant list and submit documents through the prescribed process. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on December 4.
